I posted that I had found an awesomely easy slouchy hat pattern, but it autoposted from Instagram so I didn’t link to the pattern. Here it is!!
I’d like to start off by stating my feeling towards circular needles and DPNs: I hate them. Okay, so circular needles are bearable using the magic loop method for mittens or something small, but for hats, they’re impractical to me. As for DPNs, don’t even get me started—talk about a headache.
So here’s my dilemma: Lately I’ve been seeing all kinds of girls wearing these adorable little slouchy berets, and slowly but surely I’ve fallen in love with them. I’m currently broke so I’m not going out to buy one, so I began searching for a knitting pattern. Naturally, all the patterns I found required—you guessed it!—circular needles or DPNs. I was really frustrated at first, but then I thought “Why don’t I just make up my own pattern?” It seemed difficult at first, but I’ve made hats using straight needles before, and what more is a beret than a hat with a tighter band at the bottom?
